November 19 - WIIS New England will host a breakout session with Dr. Querine Hannon. She will give a talk at The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy and speak with WIIS members about her career.

In December, WIIS New England will coordinate a field trip to the U.S. Naval War College to participate in the second day of their Conference on Women, Peace, and Security. WIIS New England will also coordinate a meet and greet event for WIIS members at the U.S. Naval War College and Security Studies students from the Boston area.



Stephanie E. Brown, President

Stephanie Brown is a graduate student at The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, specializing in International Security and Leadership Studies. Her current academic interests include insider threat, Eastern European politics, counterterrorism and countering violent extremism, and information operations. Stephanie's thesis research involves an assessment of the application and interpretation of the Espionage Act within the defense and intelligence communities via case studies to determine its efficacy and potential for reform. She is a Staff Editor at the Current Affairs Desk for the Fletcher Security Review (FSR).

Prior to Fletcher, Stephanie worked for the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, & Logistics (USD (AT&L)) and on several state and national political campaigns. She is actively involved in the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Agency (IARPA) Goof Judgement Project and an avid supporter of the Surfrider Foundation, Washington Humane Society, and Wounded Warrior Project. Stephanie has a graduate certificate in Political Psychology from the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University, and a B.A. in International Relations and Conflict Resolution from Tufts University.
